Girl and Dean

For four years I wrote and performed as one half of hand-crafted sketch comedy double act, Girl and Dean. We performed on the London comedy circuit, at Latitude Festival and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the Pleasance.

For our first Edinburgh Fringe show, we knitted all our props including beards, headphones, office equipment, wimples for nuns and nunchucks for ninjas.

The Scotsman gave the show 4 stars and said “This sassy tour-de-force tickles the ribs from the get-go”  and the BBC featured us as part of their “BBC at the Fringe” series.

In 2008 we were nominated for Best Sketch Show Funny Women at the Fringe award and were finalists in the Funny Women competition. (I had previously been a semi-finalist as a solo stand up in 2006.) As a result we got to perform at the world famous Comedy Store in London.

We got to perform at the UK Knitting and Stitching Show and at the IKnit London weekender. We were featured in Vogue Knitting and got to meet Debbie Stoller, she said we were cool.
